TENNIS

I started playing when I was 6. I remember one holiday day I got up, turned on the TV and there was a game. I got hooked. I watched for a while, and my mom saw that I was hooked. So, she asked me if I would like to play that sport, and I said yes to her with a lot of enthusiasm.

I started at school, once a week. I waited the whole week for Fridays to arrive and I could go and play. At that time, my grandmother had a house with a big patio, and every time I went there, which was quite often, she would take my racket and put me against the wall. I enjoyed it a lot, until he finally moved out.

Currently, I train twice a week, and play interclub games on Saturdays. This is a competition between clubs, where it is played as a series, where there are two singles and a doubles, and the club that wins the most wins gets the points. The clubs are divided into two zones, all playing against each other (in each zone) and the first two of each play against each other to define the champion.

Tennis is one of the most followed and practiced sports all over the world, every day there are more children who want to follow in the footsteps of great players like Rafa Nadal or Roger Federer and become the new number 1 of the ATP. But many parents doubt about which is the best age to start in tennis, either for fear of injury, to cause bad experiences that make you dislike, and so on.

As with most sports, there is no exact age to start tennis. Whether or not a child is ready for tennis depends more on their skills, abilities, and abilities than on their age. Many children at the age of 4 already show an advanced motor coordination capacity that allows them to start playing tennis, but it is necessary to bear in mind that their attention span is not yet very developed. At this age, constant distractions turn tennis lessons into a mere game with rackets and balls.

Most experts say that the best age to start tennis in a more formal way is 5 or 6 years old. By this age, children have already developed their psychomotor skills, coordination and attention, adapting much better to the demands of the game.

I enjoy it a lot when I go to train, because despite the effort, I see it to distract me from school and homework.

When I was a kid, I had the ambition to be able to play professionally, but now I really see it more as a hobbie. Sometimes I think how nice it would be to play on a court full of screaming people; that would be great. But I really think that to get there you must put a lot of effort into it and leave a lot of beloved things to be able to train and travel.

Equally, not everyone can get there. You must start training several hours a day since you are a kid, and still be lucky enough to be able to pay for your trips and everything you need to compete in tournaments for silver. Also, if you are lucky enough to be able to make tours to play outside, you need to do well to earn some silver to recoup the investment and have some profit.
